reports to the Estimating Manager, and is located in Attleboro,
MA.Position SummaryThe Estimator will be responsible for reviewing
bid documents and requesting pricing for the purpose of preparing
detailed foodservice equipment estimates and bid
proposals.Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree: Bachelor's degree in Construction
Management, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Finance or
related discipline preferred
- 2-4 years Estimating or Project Management role in the
Construction Industry
- Foodservice industry experience preferred
- OSHA 30-Hr Construction Safety & Health Certification
preferredEssential Functions & Responsibilities
- Request and review foodservice equipment bid packages
- Help when required to evaluate which bid opportunities have
higher win rate probability and will be most profitable
- Attend pre-bid meetings or walk-throughs as necessary
- Analyze drawings and other construction documents to prepare
time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
- Solicit and review pricing from vendors and subcontractors
- Follow up with architects or general contractors to obtain
missing information/clarification through creation of written
Requests for Information (RFI) documents
- Prepare PPT report to review during mark-up meeting to ensure
GM goals are being met
- Schedule and prepare for mark-up meetings to discuss pricing
strategy before finalizing bids
- Compile final estimates and submit detailed bid proposals
- Attend scope reviews meetings to discuss scope of work with
general contractors and have ability to sell TriMark's capabilities
and project experience
- Follow-up timely on bids submitted and work with Sr. Divisional
Leadership to close award of bids
- Upon receipt of a contract, review scope of work and
schedule
- Assist with vendor negotiations
- Schedule kick-off meeting to transition job to Project Manager,
Project Coordinator and Contract Administrator and any other
internal team members who will be involved in execution of project
once it has been awarded
- Build strong positive relationships with customers, vendors,
and company personnel
- Research questions as they arise
- Provide value-engineering options as necessary
- Develop product and sales knowledge to advise foodservice
professionals about equipment and pricing
- Keep up with vendor, vendor product and vendor discount
knowledge
- Help to maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and
subcontractors
- Increase bid win percentage, bid revenue, and gross profit on
jobs year after year
- Build relationships with general contractors, consultants, and
architects to build a book of business
- Handle project coordination of the project as requested
- Other duties as assigned by managerCompetencies

- Basic working knowledge of general construction, mechanical,
electrical, and plumbing
- Knowledge of construction specification documents including the
document flow process

- Ability to read architectural drawings and written
specifications
