Position Summary/Objective
The Estimator will be responsible for reviewing bid documents and
requesting pricing for the purpose of preparing detailed
foodservice equipment estimates and bid proposals.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Request and review foodservice equipment bid packages
Help to evaluate bid opportunities
Attend pre-bid meetings or walk-throughs as necessary
Analyze drawings and other construction documents to prepare time,
cost, materials, and labor
estimates
Solicit and review pricing from vendors and subcontractors
Ability to provide value-engineering options as necessary
Compile estimates and detailed bid proposals
Follow-up timely on bids submitted
Attend scope reviews meetings to discuss scope of work with general
contractors and have ability to sell
TriMark's capabilities and project experience
Upon receipt of a contract, review scope of work and schedule.
Coordinate with Project Manager,
Project Coordinator and Contract Administrator
Schedule kick-off meeting to transition job to Project Coordinator
and Project Manager
Assist with vendor negotiations
Build strong positive relationships with customers, vendors, and
company personnel
Research questions as they arise
Keep up with product and vendor discount knowledge
Help to maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and
subcontractors
Increase bid win percentage, bid revenue, and gross profit on jobs
year after year
Build relationships with General Contractors, Consultants, and
Architects in order to build a book of
business
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Essential
Competencies, Skills and Abilities Strong organizational and
communication skills, both oral and written
Good problem solving and critical thinking skills with ability to
take proactive approach
Time management skills with high sense of urgency
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part
of a team
Good business acumen
Excellent customer service/sales attitude
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office products and
Adobe Acrobat
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Above average math skills
Strong negotiating skills
Basic working knowledge of general construction, mechanical,
electrical, and plumbing
Knowledge of construction specification documents including the
document flow process
Submittals
RFI/RFP process
Addendums
Ability to read architectural drawings and written
specifications
Results oriented
Preferred
Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Unifier and JD Edwards
Essential
Education & Experience
Associate degree
Must complete CFSP Test within first 3 years of employment
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture,
Interior Design, Engineering, Finance or
related discipline
1-2 years Project Management or Estimating role in the Construction
industry
Foodservice industry experience
OSHA 30-Hr Construction Safety & Health Certification
Background
Ability to successfully pass a background check
May be asked to perform a drug test for specific positions
Must be a legal citizen or otherwise permitted to legally work in
the US without sponsorship
