Job Description:
Job Summary: The Level 2 Electronic Solderer and Assembler is
responsible for intermediate-level soldering and assembly tasks,
including a large variety of digital, analog and power device
prototype and production printed circuit boards with SMT and
through-hole components, mechanical subassembly and final product
assembly. This role requires proficiency with electronic assembly
and soldering techniques, complex assemblies, and greater
independence. K ey Responsibilities: Perform assembly and wiring of
electronic sub and final assemblies, ensuring all parts are
properly integrated and secured. Assemble individual circuit boards
(PCB and protoboard), solder SMT and THT components onto circuit
boards to IPC J-STD-001 standards. Modify and update existing PCBAs
to support Engineering Change Notices. Work must meet or exceed
customer requirements using IPC A-610,620 and 630 standards. Follow
detailed work instructions to solder devices to support production.
Ability to read and follow electronics assembly drawing and
procedures. Familiar with Bill of Materials (BOMs), work orders.
Ability to read and fill out process documentation. Performing
inventory checks to ensure they have the quantity and correct
materials per the job order. Perform intermediate level of testing
of sub systems and products. Assist in training and inspecting work
of level 1 assemblers. Inspect parts and assemblies for accuracy,
quality and adherence to standards. Proficient in the use of small
tools and soldering equipment. Familiarity with common ESD
practices. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including
stock of various electrical components and related parts.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical
certification preferred. Surface mount SMT and THT soldering and
rework experience required with a certification in IPC J-STD-001
and/or IPC-A-610 quality standards and familiarization of IPC-A-620
and 630. Minimum 5 years’ experience as an electro-mechanical
assembler and soldering experience. Ability to interpret complex
blueprints, assembly instructions, and BOMs. Detail-oriented with a
commitment to quality IPC standards. Good manual dexterity,
attention to detail with focus on quality. Self-motivated with
ability to work in fast paced environment. Familiarity with working
in an ISO9001 or AS9100 environment. Read, writing and verbally
communicate in English. Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed. - Prolonged periods of
standing, sitting, and manual dexterity for fine motor assembly. -
Compliance with safety and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge)
protocols.
