Job Description: Description Shift hours are from 6am to 2:30 pm
M-F possible overtime and Saturdays ( not Common )depending on
volume of material Any material handler we have, Does not have a
specific job. I direct the work to be done, it would help if the
candidate keeps an open mind. Moving material includes helping
loading and unloading. Job Summary: Responsible for performing a
variety of routine hazardous and non-hazardous waste tasks in the
movement and processing of solids, liquids, and manufactured
articles. Tasks could include all types of manual labor in cleaning
and decontamination operations, disassembly, sorting, packing,
re-packing, unloading and loading containers for
processing/recycling or for transport to other recycling or
disposal facilities, operating recycling/material processing
equipment. Education/Experience: · High School diploma or General
Educational Development (GED) preferred · Prior work experience of
3 to 6 months in the hazardous waste or chemical industry in a
related position with proficiency in handling forklifts and a
variety of tools preferred Knowledge, Skills and Ability: · Ability
to communicate through reading and writing · Trained in the use of
material handling equipment preferred Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: · Load and unload various size containers (totes,
drums, tankers, trailers. etc.) · Construct boxes and/or fiber
containers and stacks, labels, and loads containers. · Use a
variety of hand and portable power tools such as impact wrenches,
drum carts, saws, torches, etc. · Move hazardous waste materials
from storage areas within the facility as directed. · Sort and/or
disassemble manufactured articles to facilitate recycling. · Load,
operate and perform routine maintenance on recycling equipment
including the monitoring of stack emissions using direct reading
instruments. · Prepare by-product materials for shipment, including
the baling or containerization of material. · Assist in completing
all necessary paperwork for processing materials to include
transportation of materials to and from various locations. ·
Perform general housekeeping duties. · Maintain a clean, organized
and safe work area. · Inspect material handling and recycling
process equipment as directed. · Assist in the loading/unloading of
hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials at designated sites
utilizing appropriate equipment for which you are appropriately
trained.
