Job Description:
The Red Hat Customer Content Services (CCS) team is looking for
a Technical Writer to join our expanding organization in Boston. In
this role, you will promote customer loyalty and success through
content development and delivery. Drawing from your passion for
technology, you'll work closely with software engineers, quality
experience, user experience, field teams and support engineers, and
other subject matter experts to create content that helps our
customers understand our offerings and find the best solutions for
their needs. As a Technical Writer you will work with dynamic,
fast-paced Agile teams to bring to market new and exciting
technologies. What you will do: Work closely with content
strategists, documentation program managers, engineering project
teams, support teams, and other stakeholders to create and maintain
high-quality documentation for upcoming releases of Red Hat’s
offerings. Prioritize and deliver customer-focused documentation
aligned to established processes. Provide feedback to other
technical writers to improve the quality and consistency of our
content. Work with quality engineering (QE) and development to
improve the accuracy of your documentation. Address customer
feedback, and promote continuous improvement of the documentation
experience. Contribute to the achievement of team goals through
completion of tasks. Learn to use our internal documentation
toolchain, including the publishing platform and issue tracking
tools. Keep up to date on changes to our offerings, customer use
cases, support issues, and business strategy. Devote time to
research and increase your understanding of your product area,
including related trends and topics in artificial intelligence
(AI), machine learning (ML), and machine learning operations
(MLOps). Engage with upstream communities to support upstream
documentation and process improvements. Demonstrate proficiency in
utilizing LLMs (e.g., Google Gemini) for tasks such as deep
research, summarizing complex technical information, drafting
communications, and enhancing problem-solving efficiency across the
documentation lifecycle. Explore and experiment with emerging AI
technologies relevant to technical writing, proactively identifying
opportunities to incorporate new AI capabilities into existing
workflows and tooling to improve content quality and delivery
speed. What you will bring: Experience with the software
development lifecycle, including an understanding of the customer
lifecycle and knowledge of different content development and
publishing methodologies, tools, and defect-tracking systems.
Familiarity with structured, topic-based authoring, information
architecture; experience with DITA is a big plus. Ability to
collaborate in a global team environment, proactively engage
subject matter experts, and follow through on commitments.
Familiarity with version control systems and Git. Knowledgeable of
Agile and rapid iteration releases. Demonstrated success taking
accountability for project prioritization, execution, and
completion. Knowledge of AI, ML, and MLOps concepts and
technologies. Familiarity with upstream open source communities.
The salary range for this position is $86,640.00 - $138,500.00.
Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including
but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and
training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual
salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This
position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for
the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate
