Marathon is seeking an eager, motivated, and capable individuals looking for a new job opportunity. This is a unique opportunity to enter into the world of jewelry with little to no experience. We are looking for people who are excited and eager to learn. We offer apprentice positions as well as experienced positions. Apprenticeship positions will work closely with an experienced Marathon employees learning the ins and outs of this job.

What's the job?...Jewelry Engraver

The Engraver is responsible for engraving or etching flat or curved hard and soft metal jewelry pieces.

DUTIES:
Review job ticket for specifics of the engraving jobs.
Engraves or cuts lettering or designs in jewelry surface using hand and/or engraving tools.
Collaborate on artistic design
Sketches, traces or scribes lines and designs on jewelry piece using scriber, engraver or pencil.
Programs and operates pantograph machines to reproduce designs on jewelry pieces.
Trims precut designs or cuts around design to remove undesired parts.
Sets stones in jewelry pieces as needed.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Expertise in engraving of gold, gold filled and/or silver jewelry.
Knowledge in the correct use of hand tools, engraving tools and pantograph machines.
Ability to correctly and cleanly engrave designs onto jewelry pieces.
Effectively communicate with management, QC and other production departments shift leaders.
Meet production standards.
Work with minimal supervision.

Ability to lift and/or carry up to 5 lbs.
Sitting 90%
Standing and/or walking 10%
