Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Labor and Delivery (L&D) Duration: 143 Days Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years current experience required License: Vermont RN License or Compact required Certifications: - Active American Heart Association BLS - Active American Heart Association ACLS - Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification - Active Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization Course (PEARS) Certification Must-Have: - Strong clinical assessment and communication skills - Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations - Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends - Commitment to patient-centered care and a positive birthing experience Description: This is an international nursing opportunity. Candidates will need their own vehicle as public transportation is not available. A successful MCH RN is meticulous and detail-oriented. Candidates should be caring and compassionate with knowledge of pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum complications, and treatments. The RN should have a broad knowledge of the pediatric population, recognizing both normal and abnormal presentations. The RN will adhere to professional standards of care and recommendations. Primary Responsibilities Include: Assessing and monitoring the condition of pregnant patients before, during, and after childbirth. Assisting healthcare providers in the delivery of babies. Administering medications and conducting necessary medical procedures under the direction of healthcare providers. Coaching mothers during labor, including breathing and relaxation techniques. Providing postpartum care to mothers and newborns, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with breastfeeding. Communicating with patients and their families, explaining procedures, and providing emotional support. Documenting patient information and maintaining accurate medical records. Operating and monitoring medical equipment such as fetal monitors. Identifying any complications or emergencies and responding swiftly. Educating parents about newborn care, including bathing, feeding, and cord care. All successful employees must follow and adhere to all policies and standards of behavior.
