Facilities Technicians perform a variety of building maintenance
work including some minor electrical, mechanical, plumbing,
construction, modification, and repair activities in a commercial
setting to ensure all locations are maintained in a safe and
effective working environment.
Duties and responsibilities:
Performs maintenance duties including but not limited to minor
electrical and plumbing work and repair, snow removal, light
carpentry, painting, general building maintenance as assigned by
supervisor or designee.
Completes daily logs of work performed and records any associated
Schedules work priorities with supervisor on a regular basis.
Identifies potential problems and performs preventative maintenance
and repair work as required.
Responds to emergency situations, makes immediate repairs as
appropriate, or calls outside vendors when further assistance is
deemed necessary by supervisor.
Performs general cleanup of job sites, equipment, and tools.
Observes and implements appropriate safety practices while
performing all duties, including driving, and follows all
applicable laws, codes and standards, safety and environmental
regulations and departmental/agency policies, procedures, and
Assists with other Facility Department responsibilities as
required; including, but not limited to, painting, running errands,
picking up supplies, moving furnishings/equipment involving persons
served and/or administration staff and some cleaning, such as
toilet overflows or gutters.
Drives LeachGarner vehicles from one work site to another.
Conducts work in a professional and mature manner being courteous
and respectful to persons served, staff, and the public in all
Securely, carefully, and appropriately maintains tools, equipment,
vehicles, furnishing, and real property.
High school diploma or GED
General aptitude for all functional areas of maintenance including:
HVAC, electrical, painting, carpentry, and plumbing.
Possession of a valid driver s license and satisfactory driving
Successful candidate must be able to work overtime and rotational
on call when required
Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Must follow all safety rules and PPE requirements.
Must have the ability to regularly climb ladders, to lift and move
objects weighing up to 70lbs, and to occasionally work in outdoor
environments in a variety of weather conditions.
Able to work alone or without close supervision, must demonstrate a
strong self-directed work ethic and trustworthiness.
