more secure world. Raytheon is currently seeking a Principal Test
Equipment Design Engineer to join the Sensor Test Solutions (STS)
Department. This is an excellent position for engineers with a
background in electrical design and software
programming/automation, along with a desire to apply those skills
to developing, building, and integrating advanced test platforms
and architectures. You will be joining a project team responsible
for the development of test solutions and architectures for various
programs within Raytheon. Typical test development applications
include analog/digital, RF, High Power, and embedded
software/firmware design activities. Test architectures include a
blend of customized and COTS Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), along
with custom electro-mechanical holding fixtures and associated
interface cabling and harnessing. Engineers in this role will also
have exposure to the full lifecycle development process - from the
requirements definition phase of the test solution design process
through the verification and final system sell-off in a production
facility or field/depot environment. What You Will Do Work with
internal and external partners on the design and deployment of
complex factory test systems Lead development of test hardware,
software, and/or firmware through its development cycle, from
requirements definition through deployment at manufacturing or
customer facilities. These test capabilities may span disciplines
(Power, RF, Analog, Digital) and domains (hardware, software,
firmware) Work with Prime Engineering, Production, and Operations
teams early in development cycle to identify capability and
capacity needs for manufacturing test and ensure smooth deployment
to manufacturing facilities Actively identify test readiness issues
and optimizations through the development lifecycle Lead
medium-to-large sized teams to meet project budget, schedule, and
performance commitments Provide technical leadership to employees
in support of their specific work assignments Engage in personal
technical growth and encourage technical growth in peers and junior
engineers through mentoring activities Prepare and clearly present
project status to functional and program leadership Understand and
report financial & earned value status for monthly reporting cycle
Proactively manage and mitigate Risks and Opportunities Support
Manufacturing operations, including on-site troubleshooting and
debugging, both independently and in collaboration with design
engineering teams Contribute to cost, schedule, and technical
solutions for bid and proposal development Qualifications You Must
Have Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology,
Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years
of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree and 5 years of
prior relevant experience Experience in an engineering design and
development environment with 4 years of direct experience with Test
Equipment design and development tasks Experience leading technical
teams and projects Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government
issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
Qualifications We Prefer Experience with project management tools
such as MS Project, Jira/Confluence, and Earned Value Management
System (EVMS) tracking software Strong interpersonal and
communication skills Good decision-making and problem-solving
skills Experience with National Instruments’ TestStand,
LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW Digital, and/or Analog, and/or RF,
and/or power supply test hardware design experience Experience with
the routine use and/or automation of commercial test and
measurement equipment, i.e. Oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers,

onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all
production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the
development of our products. The salary range for this role is
101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good
faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX
